Every minute counts during a stroke! Stroke brain damage can be lessened with prompt treatment.
Knowing the symptoms of a stroke will enable you to act quickly and possibly save a life—even your own.
What are the signs of a stroke?

Sudden numbness or weakness, especially on one side of the body, in the face, arm, or leg

Sudden confusion, trouble speaking, or difficulty understanding speech.

Sudden vision problem in either one or both eyes.

Sudden difficulty walking, lightheadedness, losing your balance, or having poor coordination.

Sudden severe headache with no known cause.
Act quickly and do the following exam if you believe someone may be experiencing a stroke:

F—Face: Request a smile from the subject.
Does the face droop on one side?

A—Arms: Request that they raise both arms.
Does one arm sag to the ground?

S—Speech: Request a single phrase from the other person.
Is the speech unusual or slurred?

T—Time: Immediately dial 9-1-1, if you notice any of these symptoms.
